Kelley Blue Book has named 20 hybrid, electric and plug-in hybrid cars for under $40,000 as its top picks in anticipation of upcoming Earth Day celebrations on April 22.
For its top 10 hybrid cars of 2017, the vehicle valuation company listed the following vehicles:

- Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid
- Honda Accord Hybrid
- Kia Niro
- Kia Optima Hybrid
- Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
- Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
- Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid
- Toyota Camry Hybrid
- Toyota Highlander Hybrid
The top five electric cars according to KBB are: Chevrolet Bolt EV, Hyundai Ioniq Electric, Volkswagen e-Golf, Kia Soul EV and the Nissan Leaf.
KBB’s top five choices for plug-in hybrid’s of 2017 are: Toyota Prius Prime, Chevrolet Volt, Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid, Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid, Audi A3 Sportback e-tron.
