Toyota continues its long-running winning streak in this year’s Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand awards. The car-maker won Trusted Brand status — with gold seal recognition — in two categories: hybrid car manufacturer and passenger car manufacturer.
The annual survey of Canadians awards gold seals for brands that have won in the same category for five or more consecutive years. This year marks the seventh Trusted Brand hybrid car manufacturer award and ninth passenger car manufacturer award for Toyota.
The awards confirm the fact that trust is an important driver in Canadian consumers’ purchase decisions, according to Reader’s Digest.
“Companies compete for share of wallet, and to influence purchase decisions, companies need to present consumers with a point of difference. Trust is that difference,” says Karin Rossi, publisher, Reader’s Digest Brands-Canada.
According to this year’s survey, 93 per cent of respondents tend to buy from companies they trust more — and 81 per cent would be willing to pay a little more to support a product or service from a company they trust.
