absc_640xRick Gauthier has been named a fellow of Georgian College in honour of his dedication to the Automotive Business School of Canada in Barrie, Ont.

The special fellowship ceremony took place on May 3 at the school’s Rowntree Theatre, following the grand opening of the newly-renovated ABSC student lobby, Federation Hall.

Canadian Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), in concert with the provincial dealer associations, invested $250,000 towards the renovation of the lobby to transform it into space that mirrors a modern dealership showroom.

An annual scholarship from CADA was also recently created in Gauthier’s name to be presented to an ABSC student who has completed a successful co-op placement in a new car or truck dealership. Earlier in October, Gauthier announced he was retiring from his role as President & CEO of Canadian Automobile Dealers Association.

Canadian auto dealer’s Petrina Gentile attended the fellowship ceremony and spoke to some of the school’s faculty and provincial association members who came to show their support.
