Pull from Children’s Wish press release
DMT Development Systems Group went from being virtually unknown at the Manitoba and Nunavut Chapter at The Children’s Wish Foundation, to one of its biggest supporters, after presenting the biggest donation in the chapter’s history.
The $78,534 cheque from DMT will help local children living with high-risk life threatening illnesses.
“After meeting with the owners of DMT and viewing their approach to help, we could see something that went beyond them running a traditional internal fund raising campaign,” said Maria Toscano, Director of Children’s Wish Foundation, Manitoba and Nunavut Chapter, in a press release.
DMT, a global IT solutions provider for the automotive industry at the University of Manitoba, developed an internal “Payroll for the Needy” program in which the staff select one designated charity per year. Staff pledge an amount to be deducted from their payroll, and that is matched by the company. The single highest donation is matched 200 per cent by the company.
