This week, the Mann family in Saskatchewan will celebrate 100 years as General Motors dealers. To find out more about this significant milestone, Canadian auto dealer spoke with Dealer Principal Robert Mann.
“Our official ceremony will take place on Friday, October 24,” says Mann “and will include a luncheon and special guests, including the mayor of Prince Albert, Sask. as well as visiting General Motors executives.”
Originally founded in 1914 by Andrew Mann, the Mann Northway Group is a fourth generation family business, current dealer principal Robert Mann having taken over from his father, Roger, in 2002.
Today, besides Mann-Northway Auto Source (which represents Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC in Prince Albert, the group also operates Saskatoon Motor Products, a Chevrolet dealership in Saskatoon.
Robert Mann says that today, both stores are among the top 100 GM dealers in Canada in terms of volume, with Saskatoon Motor Products ranking in the top 20. The ceremony on Friday is also significant for it marks the next chapter of Mann-Northway Auto Source with a groundbreaking for a new image facility at the Prince Albert location.
“It’s a proud occasion for us,” says Robert Mann “and a big accomplishment for our family. As the the oldest family run General Motors dealership in the country, we’re excited in reaching this milestone and look forward to the next 100 years.”
