On Friday December 6, the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association (TADA) hosted its annual Christmas Lunch. Held at the prestigious Paramount Conference and Event Venue in Woodbridge, Ont., it proved highly popular, attracting dealers and their staff from across the GTA, as well as suppliers and other industry professionals.
Outstanding food and live entertainment, including a steel band, set the stage for a reflection on 2013, which has proved to be an eventful year for the industry as well as one of the most buoyant in terms of new vehicle sales. TADA Executive Director Todd Bourgon welcomed attendees and provided a look back on 2013 via a special video presentation.
A major milestone for TADA in 2013 was the donation of $1 million in support of the Concussion Research Centre at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto. Following an address by TADA president Benny Leung, Tracy Bailey, president and CEO of the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Centre, provided the audience with an overview on concussion research and how the TADA’s donation will help the CRC provide treatment and support to more than 4,000 children and young adults annually, as well as support the long-term development of concussion research and treatment, not only in the GTA but nationally and even internationally.
The 2013 Christmas Lunch was co-sponsored by Autonet.ca and 24hrs, which provided travel vouchers for top performing dealers. This year’s winners were Shane Riley of Markville Ford, in Markham, Ont., (shown above) who received a gift certificate for $5,000 and Murray Clark of Oakville Volkswagen, Oakville, Ont., who took home a certificate for $2,000.
