In recognition of its establishment and growth in stature, the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) Canada has announced that Lisa Scott and Steve Macaluso, co-chairs of the IARA, will be recipients of the 2013 IARA Builders Award.
Macaluso and Scott have been seen as instrumental in the establishment of the IARA in Canada through their dedication and hard work. Both have provided great insight and leadership for the IARA committee and the membership at-large. Exemplifying leadership, the volunteer co-chairs remained committed to their IARA roles even though both have experienced increasing levels of responsibility in their careers.
Alex Johnston, IARA Canada Awards and Recognition committee lead noted, “while many have contributed, we need to thank Lisa and Steve for planting the seed in expanding the IARA from the U.S. to Canada and the organization will remain indebted to them for years to come. We are pleased that we could honour their ambition with a token of our gratitude today.”
During the same event, an announcement was made that Canada will be given a greater profile in the IARA organization south of the border by way of a seat at the IARA’s U.S. committee table. The search for a new co-chair was announced as Scott indicated she will move out of her co-chair role at the end of 2013, making the position available to a consignor. Scott will continue to remain as part of the IARA Canada board while Macaluso will retain his position as co-chair to help the new consignor transition into their role.
Founded in 2011, the IARA is a non-profit professional organization designed to provide a venue for remarketing consignors to address industry issues.
