Ram’s 1500 half-ton and Heavy Duty 2500 have been named the winners of the latest Canadian Truck King Challenge.
During four days of tests, in which 16 different pickups in three categories were put through their paces, including 4,000 kms of on-road tests, where the trucks were driven empty, with payload and towed loaded trailers, the five judges chose the 2014 Ram 1500 equipped with the 3.0L Ecodiesel and eight-speed automatic transmission as this year’s overall “Truck King.”
The new diesel half-ton earned the top score in the competition as well as coming in first in the over $45,000 class. In addition the 2014 Ram 1500 3.7L V6 with the eight-speed automatic was the first place winner in the under $45,000 category. In the heavy duty class, Ram’s 2500 Heavy Duty Cummins diesel was named the victor, representing a full three category sweep for Chrysler’s truck brand.
