New website for Manitoba dealers

The Manitoba Motor Dealers Association (MMDA) has launched a new website that is geared towards providing more information to members and the public.

Geoff Sine, MMDA executive director, said the new site provides association staff with more flexibility to control site content making it easier to update. “We like it, because it enables us to change the content ourselves,” he said.

The introduction page is in a clean blue and offers a number of easy menu options such as events, seminar and training, a section on the association, a portal for consumers and government information; plus sections for sales, permits and certification, as well as a careers and scholarship portion. There is also a section for members and associate members where items can be posted and is password protected.

The MMDA is also making other changes, and will no longer be supporting the Special Olympics in 2012, instead focusing on enhancing member benefits with more seminars and training sessions. The association will hold a “Let’s Shake Things Up” cocktail party in November that will replace the traditional golf tournament fundraiser.

“We feel that we should be more focused on our members’ needs,” said Sine, as the cocktail event will not only raise funds for career advancement, recruitment and industry development but provide members with a networking opportunity.
