Ford of Canada DMS acquired by DealerTrack

DealerTrack recently announced that it has acquired DMS assets from Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited. In a press release, DealerTrack said that as part of the acquisition agreement, it will assume control and own the administrative, sales and support operations of Ford’s iConnect DMS system in all Canadian provinces. Meanwhile, Ford of Canada will continue to provide non DMS-related desk support, hardware procurement and infrastructure support to its dealer network.

DealerTrack and Ford of Canada have said they will work together, post close to ensure a seamless transition for dealers.

“This agreement represents a firm commitment by DealerTrack to the Canadian market, and to our continuing relationship with and support of Ford of Canada,” said Michael Collins, vice president and general manager, DealerTrack Canada. “We are increasingly confident in our ability to grow our DMS footprint in this important market for years to come. Ford’s Canadian dealers can continue to expect high-quality service and support under this new arrangement.”

DealerTrack and Ford of Canada have been working together since 2008, when both organizations announced a web-based, full-featured DMS system, using white labeled DealerTrack software. The recent acquisition deal is expected to be finalized during the fourth quarter of this year.
