MEET CANADIAN RACECAR STAR JAMES HINCHCLIFFE
Canadian James Hinchcliffe dropped out of university to pursue a racing career. And it paid off. The race car driver is on track to win his first IZOD IndyCar Series in his No. 27 GoDaddy.com car for Andretti Autosport, driven previously by racing superstar Danica Patrick. In 2011, Hinchcliffe received the IndyCar Rookie of the Year award and the Tony Renna Rising Star award. He finished second in the 2010 Firestone Indy Lights championship and has also competed in the Atlantic Championship, A1 Grand Prix, Star Mazda Series, and Formula BMW USA. The 25-year-old native of Oakville, Ont. now calls Indianapolis, Indiana home.
“I’m a big fan of Chevrolet. I knew I wanted a Tahoe. My family had one when I was younger and I loved it.”
It was great for going up to the cottage or down to a race when we were still go-carting. I’ve always had a thing for these cars so I decided to get one.”
“The best feature is the air-conditioned seats. Everything has got heated seats — that’s old news. But on long road trips on a hot July day with leather seats — it’s a life saver. This keeps you cool when you don’t want the a/c blasting on you the whole time,” laughs IndyCar’s reigning rookie of the year.
