Kia Optima wins “Car of the Year” award

The 2011 Kia Optima was awarded the Car of the Year by “L’Annuel de l’automobile 2012”, beating out dozens of other new models.

The annually-released hardcover publication celebrated Optima’s attributes with such quotes as “The Optima is simply one of the best looking vehicles on the road today” and pursued with “The interior is just as inviting as the exterior.” In addition to complimenting its design, the driving dynamics were also praised: “This car is as much fun to drive as many sports cars I’ve driven in the past few years.”

The Kia Optima has also been awarded the ‘best of the best’ title, at the prestigious 2011 red dot product design competition in Germany. This title, for which only the best products in each category are eligible, represented the competition’s highest distinction. Additionally, the 2011 Kia Optima earned a five-star crash safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Since its beginning in 2002, L’Annuel de l’automobile has had the mission to stand out from its competitors by offering content that is different and unique. L’Annuel is an annually-published hardcover book produced by Benoit Charette and Michel Crépault. This year’s edition contains 672 pages which were created to help answer pertinent questions consumers should ask themselves during the decision process of a new vehicle purchase.
