Mazda program channels $3.4M to communities

Mazda Canada said its retailer-driven community program has delivered more than $3.4 million to local charitable initiatives across the country since launching in 2021.

The Mazda Legends program allows dealerships to direct funding to organizations and grassroots initiatives in their own communities, supporting a wide range of social needs. The initiative is aligned with the company’s corporate social responsibility priorities, including youth, education and wellbeing.

Through the program, retailers have supported projects focused on education and youth development, food security, health services and accessibility, as well as programs serving vulnerable and underserved populations. The company said the structure gives retailers flexibility to respond to local priorities while contributing to a broader national impact.

“At Mazda, our responsibility to the communities we serve goes beyond any single initiative,” said Amy Fleming, President & CEO, Mazda Canada, in a statement. “Mazda Legends empowers our retailers to invest directly in local causes they know and trust, helping ensure our charitable contributions deliver meaningful, lasting impact.”

Mazda said the program complements its national partnerships with organizations such as Pathways to Education and Indspire, which focus on improving access to education for underserved communities.

The automaker, headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ont., supports a network of 163 retail stores across Canada and oversees sales, marketing, customer service and parts operations for the brand.
