Montreal’s Decarie Motors celebrates 75th anniversary

Montreal’s Decarie Motors (Jaguar Land Rover) dealership is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

The company was co-founded in 1946 by the late Moe Segal and his father, Max, and the store initially sold used vehicles. Today, the dealership is home to a 100,000 square-foot showroom featuring Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Bentley models, and it continues to offer used luxury cars.

“My grandfather had a simple vision: to provide exceptional quality vehicles and excellent customer service,” said Max Segal. “The company has evolved, but our mission has remained the same. For generations, we have held high standards of customer service and they built our solid reputation.”

“Family is and always has been at the heart of Decarie Motors,” said Joe Segal. “We welcome our customers, our employees and our city like our family. They have trusted us (for years). Our 75th anniversary is therefore of particular importance.”

The dealership will continue to give back to the Montreal community. In 2019, they established the Women Who Drive Scholarship at the John Molson School of Management at Concordia University. Under the five-year initiative, tuition fees of exceptional women studying in programs related to entrepreneurship, finance, or business technology are covered.

“As we look to the future, women are a growing part of our clientele,” said Decarie Motors General Manager Cheryl Blas-Segal. “For us, it is essential to offer support and new possibilities to ambitious young Montrealers who dream of embarking on a career in entrepreneurship and launching their own forward-thinking business.”
