August 9th marked the opening day of Volvo’s newest retail location, Volvo Cars Royal Oak, located in the Northwest Auto Mall in Calgary, Alberta. The newly constructed 35,000 square foot building occupies a four-acre spot at 112th Ave. NW, which is a well-known regional commercial center located near Calgary’s Stoney Trail ring road.
The recently opened Royal Oak location follows Volvo’s design philosophy, which features both classic and contemporary Scandanavian design to reflect the company’s Swedish roots. All Volvo retail locations adopt this “Volvo Retail Experience” design philosophy (VRE).
The new location is equipped with a full-service showroom for new and certified pre-owned vehicle sales alike, as well as 11 service bays and four detailing bays. The new building also has a host of ChargePoint+ electric vehicle chargers located throughout the property.
Volvo Cars Royal Oaks marks the second joint-venture between Calgary’s Valentine Group and Saskatoon’s Wyant group. “Over the past 54 years, the Valentines have built a strong reputation in the Calgary automotive market and I am confident that they will continue to deliver to our well-established clientele,” Matt Girgis, Managing Director, Volvo Cars Canada said in a recent press release. “We also wish to thank Mr. Vaughn Wyant for his unwavering passion and commitment to the Volvo brand over 10 years.”
The Valentine family has owned and operated Valentine Volvo in southern Calgary since its beginning in 1967 with Ted Valentine. Now, over 50 years later, Paul Valentine has partnered with Vaughn Wyant, President and CEO of Wyant Group, to continue growing the business.
“Vaughn and I deeply respect one another and I am honoured to work with the Wyant Group once again,” Paul Valentine said. “The addition of another Volvo Cars retail location is quite the dream come true for me, as it represents a natural progression of the Valentine legacy.”
