Apple taps former BMW exec to lead its own car project

Apple has reportedly hired the former senior executive of BMW’s electric car division, Ulrich Kranz, to help it lead its own vehicle efforts. “Kranz is one of Apple’s most significant automotive hires, a clear sign that the iPhone maker is determined to build a self-driving electric car to rival Tesla and other carmakers,” said Driving.ca. “Kranz will report to Doug Field, who led development of Tesla’s mass-market Model 3 and now runs Apple’s car project.” (Source: Driving.ca) Read the original story…
