A recent update from the Government of Ontario about shuttering most non-essential businesses has led some dealers to connect with consumers amid new lockdowns.
Policaro BMW is one such example; the dealership sent a message to its customers to ensure they were aware of the dealership’s status amid the provincial government’s changes.
“With the recent announcement made by the Ontario government in conjunction with Peel Health Services, our doors continue to remain open by appointment with an enhanced service, sales and delivery experience that is convenient, secure and contact free,” wrote Antonio Masciangelo, General Manager at Policaro BMW.
The dealership also offered information about what that experience entails: a choice of online or in-person sales consultation by appointment, self-service test drive, home delivery of purchased or leased vehicle, 24-Hour service kiosk, valet service pick up and drop off, mandatory face masks (that are provided if necessary), and strict no handshake and physical distancing rules.
It also offered some information on its sanitization program, which includes things like specified intervals for frequent cleaning and disinfection throughout the day, accessible hand-washing facilities and hand sanitizer locations, and sanitization of vehicles prepared for display or delivery at home or in-store.
The dealership also sanitizes service loaners and test-drive vehicles, and has a designated entrance to the showroom and service area.
With COVID-19 cases rising and uncertainty hovering around lockdowns and which businesses will remain open, reaching out to customers and keeping them abreast of the situation and the status of the dealership will be important. Similarly, dealers may wish to update their online status for Google Search, social media, and other platforms.
