New car leads (replies) per listing have increased by 135 per cent in August year-over-year on Kijiji Autos properties, according to the company’s national trend report for August 2020.
The report also found that average leads (replies) per listing for all listings was up 27 per cent YOY nationally, while average views per listing for new vehicles was up 70 per cent YOY. There were a total of 134,091 listings and 149 average views per listing in August on Kijiji Autos properties.
The platform garnered 96 million VDP views, 80,000 calls, and 1.3 million email/chat replies during this period. Engagement data also shows there were 252,000 dealership URL clicks, and 645,000 total live listings.
The average listing price for a new vehicle was $45,047 — down 0.49 per cent, and up 0.10 per cent to $18,612 for used vehicles. In the mass-market domestic segment, new vehicles were priced at an average of $50,188, while used was $17,497. For mass-market imports, the average price for a new vehicle was $35,297 and $16,001 for a used vehicle.
In the luxury segment, new vehicles were priced at $77,345 on average and used vehicles were $30,770 in August. No price was listed for new vehicles in the exotic category, but used vehicles on average were listed at $146,046.
A look at the total views per body type, in terms of dealer listings, indicates that passenger vehicles garnered 11.5 million views, SUVs 8.5 million, pickup trucks pulled in 5.8 million views, and vans garnered 1.1 million. Overall, total views reached 29.6 million — 27 per cent nationally.
As for the 10 most popular brands: Ford slotted first, followed by Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, Dodge, GMC, BMW, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Jeep. Toyota and GMC moved up for August, while Honda and BMW moved down the list.
The top models for that period were: the Honda Civic followed by the Ford F-150, BMW Series, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Dodge Ram 1500, Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Jetta, and the Ford F-350.
