CBB launches Vin-UP tool in Canada

Canadian Black Book and Mobility Sales Solutions have teamed up on a new dealer tool meant to help bridge the gap between dealer sales and services.

The offering, known as Vin-UP, was recently launched in Canada. It is a lead generation and vehicle acquisition tool that dealers can use in their service departments to “help feed the sales pipeline”.

“Fewer and fewer customers enter the dealership from the front door today. Vin-UP provides a very positive way to generate qualified leads from those customers entering from the service entrance,” said Bruno Lucarelli, President of Mobility Sales Solutions LLC. “The approach is less intrusive, whereby the service lane specialist or used car manager offers to buy a customer’s car versus a sales rep trying to sell them a car,” he adds.

A physical handheld scanner is used to vin-scan cars while in service, according to CBB. It then prints out a coupon with a buy-back value, “in combination with OEM and dealer incentives.” Dealers are able to select the vehicle model year(s) they want to target for buy-back. CRM data is generated as the service department scans the vehicles — data that can be integrated into the DMS systems.

CBB provides the valuation data that powers the system, and is the “sale arm” for Canada.
