Canada’s Best Managed Companies program has recognized a B.C.-based dealership group as one of Canada’s best managed companies for the fifth year in a row. The prestigious program honoured OpenRoad Auto Group, B.C.’s largest volume dealership group with its Gold Standard Requalification designation for “more than just financial performance,” said Peter Brown, Deloitte and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program.
“The ingredients to success also include overall business performance and sustained growth. It takes dedication and commitment from the entire organization,” said Brown in a news release.
Over the last year, OpenRoad opened three new dealerships including OpenRoad Audi Boundary, OpenRoad Hyundai Boundary and OpenRoad Volkswagen. It has also acquired Bentley, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce in Bellevue, Washington. OpenRoad competed for the honour against other Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues exceeding $15 million.
“It’s validating to be recognized for the continued efforts of our entire team to ensure that we remain one of the premier dealership groups in Canada,” said Christian Chia, President and CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group. “It is a great honour to receive this prestigious gold standard designation once again.”
Applicants are determined by an independent judging panel comprised of executives from Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums.
OpenRoad highlighted its efforts at “employing new technologies and programs” geared at improving the overall customer experience. By doing this, the company is able to maintain one of the highest employee retention rates in the industry, according to the release.
Platinum Club members and Gold Requalified winners will be honoured at Canada’s Best Managed Companies annual gala in Toronto on April 19, 2017. The Best Managed symposium will also be held that day and will address leading-edge business issues that are critical to the success of today’s business leaders.
