Mercedes Benz Toronto dealerships lend helping hand

shutterstock_198977423For the fourth consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz will be partnering with the Heart and Stroke Foundation to teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to customers and the general public.

From the end of April to the beginning of November, complimentary hands-only CPR training sessions will be offered at all seven Mercedes-Benz Corporate Stores in the GTA.

“The generous support of Mercedes-Benz Toronto Corporate Stores means that, so far, more than 2,300 members of the GTA community feel comfortable performing this life-saving skill,” said the companies in a written release.

“Just as Mercedes-Benz offers innovations that help make an accident less severe, less damaging and less likely, CPR training ensures that you are ready to act in the case of a cardiac emergency,” said Philipp v. Witzendorff, Vice-President of the Toronto Retail Operations for Mercedes-Benz Canada.

“That is why we were inspired to partner with the Heart and Stroke Foundation for the fourth year in a row, providing the opportunity to learn this crucial skill in our Toronto area dealerships,” he said.

More than 40,000 cardiac arrests (7,000 in Ontario alone) occur in Canada every year, with more than 80 per cent happening in public places.
