Korean automakers Kia and Hyundai beat out European manufacturers in AutoPacific’s 19th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. By having five winning vehicles, Kia and Hyundai came out on top in their combined average score.
“Kia and Hyundai are continually improving owner satisfaction in key areas like reliability and quality, yet are also hitting the mark with safety, braking, handling, styling and seat comfort, not to mention a very satisfying warranty program,” said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific, a market research group.
The Kia K900 2015 model took the top award for most satisfying vehicle overall, earning it AutoPacific’s President Award for beating the previous high score. The other two President’s Award winners have been the 2014 Mercedes S-Class and the 2010 Hyundai Sonata.
The highest satisfaction premium brand went to Tesla, while GMC was awarded highest satisfaction popular brand.
Considered an industry benchmark for measuring owner satisfaction, the VSAs are based on survey responses from more than 66,000 owners of new 2015 model year cars and light trucks.
