Grammy award-winning musician Billy Ocean has sold more than 30 million records. The singer-songwriter has a collection of Gold and Platinum records thanks to smash singles such as Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car, Caribbean Queen, Suddenly and When The Going Gets Tough (The Tough Get Going) in the 1970s and 1980s. Many songs hit the #1 spot on music charts in North America, Australia, Germany, and the UK. Even though he’s 64, Billy is going strong performing at sold-out concerts worldwide and releasing a new CD called Here You Are. Born in Trinidad, Billy now lives in London, UK with his wife and two kids.
“I’ve owned Golfs since the ’70s. The last one I had was about 12 or 13 years old. My latest is a GTI Pirelli. Only limited amounts were made. Golfs are lovely cars to drive. They’re beautiful cars,” says the 64-year-old singer/songwriter. “I enjoy driving. Driving isn’t necessarily about luxury. It’s about enjoying the car you’re driving — that’s what it’s all about… Cars are amazing things. After they invented the car, they could have stopped all inventions for me.”
It’s a very fast car and I enjoy the performance. I love feeling the mechanics and the power of the car.
