KOT Auto Group has acquired Duncan Hyundai, adding another Hyundai dealership to its growing portfolio and further expanding its presence on Vancouver Island.
The acquisition strengthens the Kelowna-based dealer group’s position within Hyundai’s Canadian retail network and continues a period of rapid growth for the organization, which has expanded through a series of acquisitions and facility investments across British Columbia.
The move comes only weeks after KOT Auto Group unveiled a new 75,000-square-foot Hyundai dealership in Langford, B.C., which the company described as the largest Hyundai facility in Canada. The Langford development also included a standalone Genesis facility serving the Vancouver Island market.
KOT Auto Group said the Duncan acquisition aligns with its strategy of investing in communities across the province while growing its representation of key automotive brands. The company has steadily expanded its dealership network in recent years through acquisitions and new facility developments.
The addition of Duncan Hyundai is expected to strengthen the group’s reach across Vancouver Island, complementing its existing operations in Victoria, Langford and Nanaimo. The acquisition also increases KOT Auto Group’s presence within Hyundai’s dealer network at a time when automakers continue to invest in electrification, digital retailing and customer experience initiatives.
Founded in 2011, KOT Auto Group has grown into one of British Columbia’s largest dealer groups, operating dealerships across Vancouver Island, the Okanagan and other regions of the province. The company represents a range of automotive brands and has pursued an aggressive growth strategy through acquisitions and facility upgrades.
