HGreg has been named a finalist in the International Market Development category at the 2026 Mercuriades awards, recognizing its expansion across North America, according to a company release issued March 13.
The Montreal-based dealership group has grown to 46 dealerships across Canada and the United States, with operations in Florida, California, Maryland and Texas. The company entered the U.S. market in 2009 and has continued to expand through acquisitions and investment in large-format retail locations.
“Being one of the 2026 Mercuriades finalists in the International Market Development category is a testament to the hard work of our teams and HGreg’s progression into new markets,” said John Hairabedian, President of HGreg, in a statement. “This recognition highlights the strategic vision and operational discipline driving our sustained, long-term growth.”
As part of its latest push, HGreg invested more than $50 million to establish a megacenter in Houston, including facility upgrades, inventory acquisition and hiring. The company said sales targets were met within the first year of operations, while staff turnover remained below industry averages.
HGreg attributes its growth to an integrated operating model that combines centralized procurement, reconditioning centres and a digital platform supported by data analytics developed in Quebec. The approach is designed to improve inventory management and tailor vehicle offerings to local market demand.
The Mercuriades awards, organized by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Quebec, recognize business performance and innovation. Winners will be announced May 11 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
