Autotrader has released its Best New Cars of 2026 list, naming 10 vehicles it says stand out in a crowded field of new and redesigned models. The list was published March 12 by the Cox Automotive-owned marketplace and is meant to help consumers narrow their options as more fresh products reach dealers.
The 2026 winners, listed alphabetically, are the Cadillac VISTIQ, Ford Maverick Lobo, Honda Passport, Hyundai Palisade, Lucid Gravity, Mazda CX-5, Nissan LEAF, Subaru Outback, Tesla Model Y and Toyota RAV4. Autotrader said its editors evaluated hundreds of vehicles before cutting the field to 10.
“The experts on our Autotrader editorial team drive all of the new and redesigned vehicles every year, pooling our collective evaluations, impressions and available data to determine the Best New Cars,” said Jason Fogelson, Managing Editor for Autotrader, in a statement. “The 2026 list features a mix of redesigned favorites along with new nameplates that car buyers should definitely check out during their shopping journey.”
Autotrader said its editors focus on vehicles that are groundbreaking or deliver significant value. To qualify, a model had to be new or redesigned for 2026, available for purchase within the next nine months and carry a starting price below $100,000. The company added that most vehicles on the list come in well below that ceiling.
