Through the Mazda Legends campaign, Mazda Canada and its retailers have collectively distributed over $3 million in donations among their communities since 2021, the company announced in a news release.
In a statement Amy Fleming, Mazda Canada’s Senior Director & COO, said the company is driven by a deep-rooted responsibility to uplift the communities they serve. The program, which initially began as a post-pandemic support, appoints Mazda’s retailers as the decision-makers of their community’s donation.
“We invest in local change-makers because we believe they are key to driving authentic, meaningful change; empowering those who are deeply connected to their communities helps us ensure solutions are relevant, sustainable, and tailored to the unique needs of each community,” said Fleming.
Mazda’s retailers select “Legends” that contribute to a range of causes, including youth wellbeing and development (such as volunteering for sports and mentorship programs), food insecurity (fundraising/volunteering at food banks), and supporting vulnerable populations (support for individuals with special needs, including homelessness and women facing domestic violence.)
