Jean Marc Leclerc, Honda Canada’s President and CEO is retiring after nearly 40 years in the auto industry, 30 years with Honda Canada and as its leader since May 2020.
Dave Jamieson, the company’s Senior VP and COO will take over the leadership role on April 1, 2025. Honda Canada released the news in a written statement. “I am deeply honoured by this appointment and am grateful for the opportunity to build on Jean Marc’s legacy. I look forward to collaborating with our talented team across Canada to continue driving innovation and delivering exceptional value to our customers,” said Jamieson.
“I now have a greater opportunity to share my passion for the auto industry, excitement for Honda and Acura products, and vision for our business with the next generation of Canadian associates, dealers and customers.”
Jamieson becomes the fourth consecutive Canadian to be named President and CEO of Honda Canada and will “further strengthen Honda Canada’s position as a leader in the automotive industry,” said the release.
Leclerc started with Honda Canada in 1995 and has held senior leadership roles across all divisions including Honda, Acura, Motorcycle and Power Equipment and Honda Financial Services. “Since being named President and CEO in May 2020, his leadership and vision were instrumental in navigating a post-pandemic environment,” the company said in the news release.
For his part, Jamieson has been in the auto industry 30 years and 20 years at Honda Canada in a variety of leadership roles. The company said Jamieson has overseen critical aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, parts and logistics and customer engagement.
