AutoTrader has announced the winners of its awards that reveal the best vehicles in Canada as voted by some of the country’s foremost automotive experts.
For the 2025 AutoTrader Awards experts voted for the best vehicles in 28 segments, which are meant to represent best buys for Canadian drivers. The jury consisted of more than 20 automotive journalists from all over the country that considered things like value, practicality, user-friendliness, performance, safety, innovation, overall excellence, and more when voting.
In a statement, AutoTrader’s Editor-in-Chief Jodi Lai said “it’s important that we are also (a) source of unbiased and trustworthy car advice, and that’s what these awards are all about.” She added that the awards are here to “take out some of the guesswork and are a solid jumping off point for someone researching their next vehicle.”
Some of the winners include the Honda Civic/hatchback/hybrid for Best Overall Car, the Kia EV9 for Best Overall SUV, the Ford Maverick/hybrid for Best Overall Truck, and the Kia EV9 for Best Overall Green Vehicle. Toyota was listed as Canada’s Most Trusted Car Brand — the only category in which the experts don’t vote. AutoTrader said the award is the result of a third-party survey of Canadian consumers.
