Software company UVeye has been recognized on TIME’s list of the Best Inventions of 2024, in a nod to the transformative impact of its artificial intelligence-powered vehicle inspection technology on the automotive industry.
In a blog post the company said its technology, which uses deep learning and an enormous database of vehicle components and flaws, has been likened to an “MRI for vehicles.” It added that its systems perform detailed, real-time assessments that pinpoint defects within seconds.
“We’re supremely honoured that UVeye’s AI-powered vehicle inspection systems have earned a spot on TIME’s prestigious Best Inventions list for 2024,” said company CEO and Co-founder Amir Hever in a statement. “This recognition of our efforts to innovate vehicular safety and smart transportation is a strong motivator for our team to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”
Companies that end up on TIME’s list of the Best Inventions of 2024 can do so because of their profound impact on the sector they cater to — in UVeye’s case, various sectors within the automotive industry, including dealerships, OEMs, fleet operators, and insurers.
“The selection process for TIME’s list was diligent,” said UVeye in a blog. “Nominations were solicited globally, and each contender was evaluated based on originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact. Being named among such transformative inventions is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.”
