Volvo Group’s President and CEO will be CES 2025 keynote

As another indication of the growing importance of automotive in the tech world, Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO of the Volvo Group, will be the keynote speaker for CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Consumer Technology Association announced. The trade event will take place from January 7-10, 2025, and is powered by the CTA.

Lundstedt will speak at 9 a.m. PT on January 8, 2025, in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian. He is expected to highlight the group’s vision for a 100 per cent safe, fossil-free, and more productive transportation and infrastructure. The focus of the presentation will be on the urgency of providing a more sustainable and efficient way of working through electrification, connectivity, and automation.

“Transforming mobility is a full-scale societal issue and we are urgently driving that forward,” said Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO of the Volvo Group, in a statement. “But the reality is that, while we have the technology and equipment available, it is of paramount importance to have vital enabling conditions in place to ensure society and the planet benefit from fossil free transport and infrastructure solutions.”

According to the news release, the group will highlight its three-pronged approach to fossil-free transportation: battery electric, hydrogen fuel cells, and combustion engines running on renewable biofuels. They will explain their  systemic approach across the entire value chain.

“Volvo Group is playing an important part in the green future with some of the most ambitious goals and initiatives in the industry,” said Kinsey Fabrizio, President of CTA, in a statement. We can’t wait to learn more about the expected and unexpected partnerships that have led to breakthroughs in technology and sustainable practices.”
