Hyundai Auto Canada said it’s been named one of the 2024 Best Workplaces for Giving Back by Great Place to Work — an honour it received following an independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work.
“At HAC, our daily actions and purpose are directly connected to our brand ethos of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ and we are driven to uplift each other and those around us to create a more equitable and sustainable future,” said Kirk Merrett, Director of Human Resources and Administration, in a statement.
Merrett said generating a positive impact by serving the community and customers at large is a point of pride for team members. “We strive to provide valuable outcomes, whether it is in our daily work or through community outreach, and we are grateful to be recognized for our efforts by Great Place to Work.”
Some noteworthy activities from HAC include actively partnering with organizations to support youth through commitments that span several years, to fund education scholarships with Centennial College, the Automotive Business School of Canada (ABSC), and the Pinball Clemons Foundation. The latter supports marginalized and racialized youth through scholarships and mentorship.
HAC is also known for its mental health advocacy and for prioritizing access to mental health services among youth. As an example, it donated $500,000 to the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation in June to support the construction of a new, independent mental health unit for children and adolescents.
HAC’s recent honour is the latest of six accolades to be awarded to Hyundai this year by Great Place to Work.
