The New Car Dealers Association of BC (NCDA) formally installed a new Board Chair and new Board members, while also paying tribute to outgoing members for their service.
Ann-Marie Clark officially took up the position of Chair during the NCDA’s Hybrid Association and Foundation annual general meetings in Victoria, B.C. towards the end of last month. She has served in an acting capacity for the past year.
“We have talented and insightful members now sitting among us — but the names of outgoing members are synonymous with our industry,” said Clark in a statement. “They have helped lead us through one of the most challenging periods ever — and for that we are eternally grateful.”
The other new members to join the Board include April Gaskell (GM Financial), Bradley Warren (BMO), and dealers Dave Bare (Harris Auto Group on Vancouver Island) and Luke McClellan (Managing Partner of Wheaton Chevrolet Ltd., Wheaton Buick GMC Ltd., and Mercedes-Benz Kamloops.)
As for the outgoing members, the NCDA said the Board and staff thanked James Carter, Peter Heppner, Erik Jensen, Anthony Lunellli, Peter Sia, and Peter Trzewik for their years of service.
The members that will continue in their current role are Vice Chair Kai Hensler – Weisssach, Jared Williams of Jack Carter North Star Chev Buick GMC, and Mike Hacquard of Wolf Auto Group. Others include Darren Johnson of First Canadian Financial Group, and Blair Qualey, who is the current President and CEO of the NCDA.
“We remain committed to helping fuel BC’s leadership in zero emission vehicle (ZEV) adoption, but we also know that mandated targets amidst softening demand for electric vehicles requires a more flexible approach by government,” said Clark, adding that they will also “be advocating for changes to the New Car Luxury Tax threshold.”
