Canadian auto dealer’s Linda Nadon raises $2K in cycling challenge

Closing event on August 31 in Montréal, Québec.

Last month Linda Nadon, the business development manager for Canadian Auto Dealer and editor of its sister magazine Affaires automobiles, took up a cycling challenge and collected more than $2,000 — more donations than any other participant — that will go towards an important cause.

The event, the Challenge Rassembleur 2023, took place in Montréal, Qué., from August 1-31; the goal was to help raise funds for Let’s Bond and Éducaide, which aims to raise awareness about mental health issues among students in the province. Each event participant sets a goal for how many kilometres they want to cycle (and much they want to accumulate towards the cause).

“Because we all have someone close to us suffering from anxiety, depression, or other mental health problems, I decided to participate in this event, which will ensure the donations collected go to the Fondation Jeunes en Tête, the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, and Educaide,” said Nadon.

“This also represents a great challenge for the rehabilitation of my ACL reconstruction and it’s a great cause to support,” she added.

Nadon set a goal of 250 kilometres and exceeded her own expectations by cycling 305 kms. She completed 17 bike rides overall, over an elevation of 2,130 metres. All bike outings were counted online via Strava Club and face-to-face during spontaneous gatherings in Montréal and Qué.

Nadon raised $2,075, the largest individual donation of the 84 participants. In total, $76,245.79 was raised — an amount that exceeds by more than $25,000 the objective that the organization had set ($50,000).

Canadian auto dealer likes to salute all our amazing dealers who give back to their communities, and it looks like it’s rubbed off on our team members as well! Well done Linda!
