Quebec-based Groupe Beaucage has made a $1 million donation to the Hospitals & Health Care Sherbrooke (CHUS) Foundation. The $1 million donation will be used to finance an outdoor therapeutic courtyard for children in the future Mother-Child Emergencies Centre of the Fleurimont Hospital.
Last September, Groupe Beaucage Founder & President Daniel Beaucage, was named as a member of cabinet of businesspeople in the region to meet CHUS Foundation’s goal of reaching $40 million in donations by the end of 2022. The campaign began in 2018 and has already reached 75 percent of its goal.
“When my wife (Mariève), daughters and I heard of this beautiful project, we were deeply moved and immediately liked the idea,” said Daniel Beaucage in a media release. “This outdoor courtyard is more than just a playground; it is an environment specifically designed for hospitalized children to have fun and beneficial experiences during their recovery. They have significant challenges to overcome despite their young age, so it is essential to contribute to their well-being. Moreover, this project goes hand in hand with our family’s beliefs.”
Groupe Beaucage owns 23 stores in the Eastern Townships representing eight brands. It was recently named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies, which highlights the excellence of Canadian private companies, for the second consecutive year by Deloitte Canada.
