TradeRev, a business unit of global wholesale used vehicle digital marketplace operator KAR Global, announced the company has named James Tani as president. In addition to his current role, leading Canadian sales as the executive vice president of KAR Global dealer sales, Tani will oversee the strategic growth and development of TradeRev, and will report to James Coyle, chief digital officer of KAR Global.
Tami was a co-founder of TradeRev, a digital marketplace that facilitates live, dealer-to-dealer vehicle sales. The app allows users to complete the entire transaction within the app, including inspection, title and arbitration services, instant live bids at appraisal, floorplan financing and transportation.
“I can’t think of anyone better suited to take over leadership of TradeRev,” said James Coyle, chief digital officer of KAR Global. “As president of TradeRev, James will ensure we continue delivering the innovative products and services that have made it the leader in Canadian digital dealer-to-dealer auto sales. His deep understanding of the full automotive ecosystem will keep us connected to dealers and their needs as we continue to expand and align our marketplaces.”
In 2011, Tani, along with co-founders Mark Endras, Wade Chia and Jae Pak launched TradeRev in Canada. After merging ADESA and TradeRev’s sales teams under KAR Global to better serve customers with a combined wholesale offering, he was named to his current role as executive vice president of KAR Global dealer sales.
“It has been an incredible journey co-founding TradeRev,” said Tani. “Watching the company’s exponential growth and ultimately combining our capabilities with ADESA to offer dealers the most powerful wholesale marketplace in Canada.”
