Mercedes-Benz Canada added an integration with Hydro-Québec’s Electric Circuit network, giving Mercedes-EQ drivers access to more than 3,300 additional electric vehicle charging stations in Quebec and Eastern Ontario.
The integration is a new addition to the Mercedes me Charge ecosystem, and it will allow the OEMs “EQ” drivers to access Electric Circuit stations installed in parking lots in both provinces, which includes more than 500 DC fast charging stations.
“Mercedes-Benz Canada is thrilled that drivers of our electric vehicles will be able to seamlessly charge on the Hydro-Québec network via the Mercedes me connect app and dashboard,” said Eva Wiese, President and CEO, Mercedes-Benz Canada, adding that “We expect Quebec to be a truly important market for the exceptional Mercedes-EQ product lineup.”
The company said the addition of the Electric Circuit integration means Mercedes-EQ drivers will have access to more than 8,950 public charging ports in total across Canada—which includes more than 1,300 DC fast charging ports. Expanding the network access was facilitated by ChargePoint.
“In 2022, Mercedes me Charge customers will also start to benefit from Plug & Charge functionality, allowing for a seamless, convenient charging process on ChargePoint stations,” said the OEM.
