Cadillac’s buyout strategy weeds out dealers not committed to selling/servicing EVs

General Motors’ luxury brand Cadillac will enter 2022 with 560 dealerships—down from 875 at the start of 2021, although the remaining stores account for more than 90% of its sales, according to Inside EVs. The company offered buyout agreements to dealers a year ago, with the brand’s buyout strategy “designed to ensure that the dealership network was committed to selling and servicing EVs,” said Inside EVs.
