OpenRoad among Canada’s Best Managed Companies — for the 9th time

OpenRoad Auto Group has been named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the ninth consecutive year, earning the dealer group a top spot within the Platinum Club designation.

This year’s program award winners are among the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed companies, with revenues surpassing $25 million and that demonstrate leadership in the areas of strategy, capabilities and innovation, culture and commitment, and financials to achieve sustainable growth.

“It’s a great honour to once again be recognized within this elite group of Canadian businesses for our continued efforts to successfully evolve and adapt in an ever-changing industry and world, especially during what was a very challenging year,” said Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group.

OpenRoad owns and operates 32 retail locations in British Columbia and Ontario, and has four luxury auto brands in Bellevue, Washington.

Applicants of the Best Managed Companies are evaluated by an independent judging panel that includes representatives from program sponsors and special guest judges. Some of the 2021 Best Managed Companies share common traits, such as enabling a remote workforce, making employee health a top priority, acting with an increased sense of purpose and social responsibility, and with a heightened focus on cash flow.

“To become a Best Managed Platinum Club winner is nothing short of remarkable,” said Peter Brown, Partner, Deloitte Private and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “Their continued adaptability in an era of uncertainty sets the standard for how to overcome new barriers and demonstrate resilience at the highest levels.”

The program is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business, and TMX Group.

The 2021 winners will be honoured at a virtual gala.
