Neal Bodack, COO of the Zanchin Automotive Group (CNW Group/Zanchin Automotive Group)
Zanchin Automotive Group, one of the largest dealer groups in Canada, has announced the appointment of Neal Bodack as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
Bodack, who has been a key member of the group’s senior management team since 2016, has almost 30 years of experience with Mercedes-Benz Canada, during which he held retail and wholesale roles — most recently as VP of National Sales.
In October 2020, Zanchin Automotive Group purchased Mercedes-Benz Newmarket, which is led by former president of Mercedes-Benz Canada, Brian Fulton. With the acquisition the group now owns 34 dealerships across Ontario, nine of which are luxury brands — including Mercedes-Benz Durham in Whitby, Ont.
Under Bodack’s leadership, Mercedes-Benz Durham has captured the largest share of the area’s luxury car market in both sales and customer satisfaction and has earned a Star Dealership award. The Mercedes-Benz award is given to dealerships that demonstrate outstanding performance in new and pre-owned sales, service and parts, and earn exceptional customer service satisfaction ratings.
In his new role as COO, Bodack will report directly to Founder and Chairman Joe Zanchin, who purchased the group’s first dealership in Vaughan, Ont., back in 1973. Bodack will also work closely with Senior Executive Vice Presidents Laura Zanchin and Andria Zanchin.
Replicating the growth seen at Mercedes-Benz Durham will be one of Bodack’s primary goals. His responsibilities as COO will include leading the company through its next phase of growth.
“As we grow our business it is important to have senior management with the expertise, innovation and passion to provide the best experience to our customers at all touch-points,” said Joe Zanchin in a company news release. “I am thrilled to have Neal, Laura and Andria all working together on the senior management team.”
