Fifty-five per cent of Canadians were sad to let their previous vehicle go, while four out of 10 customers consider their vehicle to be just another appliance (like a toaster), according to CARFAX Canada.
The company conducted research on Canadian vehicle owners, shifting their focus from hard facts to more surprising results about the attachment consumers have to their car.
Their research also found that 42% of Canadians have a name for their vehicle, and that two out of three have special memories that involve their car.
Furthermore, 44% of Canadian car owners said that “some people don’t understand the connection I have with my car.” And 41% have said that “my car is my baby.”
The research findings are based on a CARFAX Canada’s national survey of 1,013 Canadians who recently purchased a used vehicle, in 2020.
