Princeton tech could help cars see around corners

An automotive radar system from Princeton University, originally developed to help drivers spot unseen cyclists and pedestrians, will allow vehicles to “see” around corners. “Essentially, the system uses radar’s Doppler effect — the shift in returning radio waves when an object is moving — to measure the speed of a two-wheeler ahead,” said Driving.ca. “But that’s pretty standard stuff.” What is new is the radar beam’s ability to “see” vehicles around a corner that “by bouncing its waves off buildings.” (Source:Driving.ca) Read the original story…
