Daimler ready to begin talks around sale of “Smart” plant in France

Daimler plans to begin discussions around selling its plant in Hambach, France, where the Smart compact car was produced for many years. The OEM has approximately 1,600 employees at the plant. “CEO Ola Kallenius said in a statement that the company is working to increase efficiency in light of high investments in electrification and other areas,” said The Detroit News.
