Over the past year, CDK Global has been focusing on improving partnerships with customers — a focus that also extended to the NADA Show.

Bob Marvin, Sr. VP of Core DMS Applications at CDK Global, said the company is looking to simplify the customer experience around contracting and billing. It’s an area the company identified as a big opportunity — and they are taking action on it.

“It’s all about efficiency,” said Marvin. “It’s those two key pillars: the innovation side of the product and services, and then the experience.”

One issue that CDK said is important for dealers is the use of their data and costs to access that data. “We do not sell our customer’s data,” said Marvin, adding that “We are eliminating most integration fees for third parties,” which is part of a new program being offered to dealers. “There will not be a fee to access that data and transport that data from CDK to another provider for basic transfer.”

Marvin said the company wants to deliver on their promise of openness and a frictionless experience. “We want to be sure that the dealers have the ability to seamlessly integrate, which is where we’re going,” said Marvin.

“Most dealers will still ask about security and ensure their data is secure,” said Greg Wallin, VP of Sales, Canada Automotive. “Part of our program is to secure the client’s data.”

CDK Global’s new pricing commercial model, or customer rewards program as they refer to it, aims to ensure they are better aligning the pricing to the value of their solutions. “That’s one of the benefits that we’re really excited about,” said Marvin. “We built this new pricing model — commercial model — for our partners and our customers.”
