Another automaker has joined CarGurus’ Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Partner Program for the Canadian market, which allows the OEM to list CPO vehicles as manufacturer-certified on the platform.
CarGurus is an online automotive review and shopping website. Its program, among other things, helps OEMs ensure there is a clear distinction for shoppers that the carmaker’s CPO vehicles are certified by the manufacturer. Nissan Canada is the latest OEM to join the program.
“CarGurus is charged with improving the consumer experience of shopping for a vehicle, and we are excited to have Nissan join us in our efforts,” said Rory Edwards, Vice President of Global Business Development at CarGurus. “Nissan shoppers will now have more transparency into the vehicle options offered by their local dealers and a better site experience on CarGurus, ultimately bringing our dealers better informed customers.”
The partnership between CarGurus and Nissan allows the OEM to maximize its own CPO program, enhance its reach and better retain customers, and improve the car-shopping journey. It is also meant to help Nissan dealers extend their reach to online car-shoppers.
“This arrangement further supports our Canadian Nissan dealers with an increase in digital reach, lead volume, and ultimately, conversions,” said Alain Ballu, president of Nissan Canada Finance.
Car-shoppers can search CPO inventories in both English and French directly from the CarGurus homepage, and the vehicles setup to be easily spotted on search results and vehicle display pages.
“OEM-certified CPO feeds are automatically applied to any dealers currently listing their inventory on CarGurus in Canada,” said CarGurus in its news release. “CPO certification on CarGurus also allows some franchise dealerships to submit claims to OEM-co-op programs and get partial to full refund for their digital marketing spend on CarGurus.”
Other OEMs that have joined the company’s CPO Partner Program include Kia and General Motors.
