New partnerships lead to new B.C. Porsche centre

OpenRoad Auto Group and Dilawri Group of Companies recently announced a partnership with Porsche Cars Canada to build a new 75,000 square-foot Porsche centre in Richmond, B.C., by late 2020.

The plan and the partnership was officially revealed by Marc Ouayoun, President & CEO of Porsche Cars Canada, along with Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group, and Ajay Dilawri, Principal Director of Dilawri Group of Companies, during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Porsche Centre Richmond that will be built at the Richmond Auto Mall.

“This is an exciting new era for Porsche in B.C. with two of B.C.’s largest automotive groups combining their strengths, expertise and passion for Porsche in order to deliver on a vision for a new flagship location that will embody the very essence of the Porsche brand,” said Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group.

The new dealership will represent the third and largest Porsche centre in Vancouver, and will be jointly owned and operated through the OpenRoad Auto Group and Dilawri Group of Companies partnership.

It will feature a new and pre-owned showroom, service and parts area with 15 service bays, a service drive-through, and a specialized delivery area. The centre is expected to include around 40 employees in a variety of areas, including sales, service, management, and administration.

“We’re continuing to see demand for new and used Porsche cars in British Columbia, so when the opportunity came up for another sales and service centre, Richmond was a natural choice based on its central location and high concentration of Porsche owners,” said Ajay Dilawri, Principal Director of Dilawri Group of Companies. “We look forward to opening the doors in late 2020.”
