PBS Systems’ team members were enthusiastic participants at the NADA Show this year, as they discussed their new training facility and an enhanced CRM system with attendees.
“The number of customers that are coming to visit us this year is much higher than it ever was before, and I think part of that is because of the amount of growth and the amount of traction you’ve seen both in our products and our customers,” said Lynn McNeil, Sr. Vice-President at PBS Systems.
A key focus for the company this year is their new training facility in Milton, Ont. This option is a more efficient alternative to having them arrive in a dealership for the day to train a new service manager. “We might get one to two hours of that individual’s time,” said McNeil. “Now we provide a facility.”
He adds that the facility is easy to reach and local, and they managed to achieve a decent number of registrations for February. The idea will be to offer more session in the spring, summer and fall. McNeil also said the workshops they are doing are focused on new hires, which is meant to help new service managers or advisors. The company is aiming to offer the workshops monthly in Ontario and in Calgary.
“For this calendar year, we’re going to just alternate locations, but that’s the goal in about 12 months — to have them at both locations,” said McNeil. “One week a month we’ll be doing these trainings for new users, but separate to that, we’re also doing the management courses which are housed regionally.”
Other offerings, depending on the region or province, will focus on best practices, rolling out a procedural changes, talking about discussing personality types when changing a process or something to that effect in a dealership.
Some manufacturers have also requested that the company hold specific sessions for them, to discuss topics such as the processes that an OEM would like to encourage their dealers to use.
Another key topic for PBS Systems at NADA this year was their enhanced CRM system, according to Shelly Scott, VP Business Communications, PBS Systems. “The one we previously had in place for the sales departments has now been completely enhanced. Our customers and prospects are really, really excited about some of those big changes. We’ve really embedded the CRM, because typically we will go into a store and find that some dealers are using multiple vendors to accomplish their business goals.”
