Ford names new VP to lead global vehicles program

A new vice president has stepped in to lead Ford’s Global Product Development Operations & Vehicle Programs.

The newly appointed Trevor Worthington, 55, will lead the brand’s global vehicles program. He will also coordinate Ford’s product development resources to help bring new products to market, among other responsibilities. Worthington will continue to report to Hau Thai-Tang, Executive VP, Product Development and Purchasing.

“With Trevor’s broad experience across some of the world’s fastest-growing markets, he will help us meet the needs of our diverse customer base by bringing together the best of Ford’s product development capabilities,” said Hau Thai-Tang. “This will enable us to bring exciting new vehicles to market faster and more efficiently.”

Worthington has served as Ford’s VP of Product Development for Asia Pacific since 2013. In his previous role, he has helped the company deliver on its plan to bring more than 50 new vehicles to China by 2025. He also oversaw the investment of more than $189 million in the Ford Research and Engineering Centre — funds which were used to strengthen the automaker’s engineering and vehicle testing capabilities in the region of Nanjing.

Graham Pearson, 52, will take over Worthington’s previous role at Ford.
