New survey to provide dealers with insights

Canadian auto dealer is exploring the use of in-store digital media by dealers across the country with the launch of its new 2018 Digital Signage Survey.

The survey, accessible via a banner on the Canadian auto dealer website, looks at what Canadian car dealerships are doing with in-store digital media — and what they feel is important about it.

“Retailers of all stripes are moving away from traditional forms of media, such as static menus and point-of-purchase materials (POP),” says Niel Hiscox, the magazine’s publisher. “They’re now shifting towards things like digital screens and interactive kiosks.”

He adds that a growing number of aftermarket providers are bringing dealers a range of solutions to consider — which in turn creates a more difficult choice for them to make when it comes to things like brand compliance and investment hardware, software, and ongoing monthly licence fees.

“There is a lot of complexity around the use of this medium, and a growing number of choices to consider,” says Hiscox. “Now is the time to take the pulse of Canada’s dealers, and we hope this survey will provide them with valuable information.”

Dealers can access the survey by clicking on the red Digital Signage Survey banner located at the top of the Canadian auto dealer homepage. They will find questions regarding the the different types of applications they would most like to see supported by digital media, what analytics are most important, how critical it is to integrate with OEM offerings, and more.

The survey results will help provide dealers with more information about the use of in-store digital media — particularly those that are already considering investing in screens, video walls and kiosks.

“The results of the survey will be available in the last issue of the year for Canadian auto dealer magazine,” says Hiscox. “We will share this information with you on our website, post-print publication.”A draw will also take place to provide respondents with the chance to win a cinemagraph: an animated image that brings eye-catching motion to your digital advertising.
