U.S. company Mobility, described as a national “multi-dealer, multi-brand” vehicle subscription service, has acquired Metro Detroit-based vehicle subscription company Condor Detroit to expand its services in Michigan.
The deal brings several people from Condor to Mobility, including CEO Tarun Kajeepeta and Aaron Bedell, head of operations.
“Condor has quickly built a vehicle subscription service with a strong technology platform and a robust growth trajectory,” said Chance Richie, CEO and co-founder of Mobiliti. “Adding the Condor team’s experience and customer focus to the Mobiliti family allows us to quickly enter the market in Michigan and further support our ambitious national growth plans for 2018 and beyond.”
Mobility currently does not charge to become a member of its service, and it provides its customers with the option of subscribing for as little as 30 days. The company also plans to continue using Condor’s existing fleet of vehicles. New customers will have the opportunity to manage their subscriptions through the Mobiliti mobile app and Condor’s web interface, while current customers will eventually be transitioned.
The acquisition of Condor is meant to expand the service to a market that is typically very competitive, as most Michigan residents have access to auto manufacturer discounts.
